The future of search engines, and engineers
I believe search engines will overcome their current limitations. They will index everything, instead of less than 20% of what's up on the web, as it is now (1/7/00). And they will become extremely intelligent in giving you the information you want and not giving you loads of what you don't want. And these improvements are happening and will happen (I wish it was faster, but I'm sure it's getting better every day).
I believe as search engines evolve to be better, pages put up by individual engineers, discussing solutions to their engineering problems, will be the first hits the search engines return when searching for solutions to problems.
Every individual engineer, who cares and has the time, should put up on web pages discussions of solutions to their engineering problems. It will eventually be read by others who needed those solutions.
